Greetings Guest, Community Partners and Friends!

It is with great pleasure and sincere appreciation that I greet each of you on behalf of the members of Women In Community Action Inc. (WICA Inc.) It is with honor as the president to welcome you to our website.

I extend our yellow rose of friendship and service to you.

WICA Inc. is an organization with rich history. The organization was chartered on September 1976 at the Lazy Susan Dinner Theatre in Woodbridge, Virginia. For the past forty years, the members of WICA Inc. have been dedicated to serving the community, especially our youth and our residents in Prince William County who are in need.

The women of WICA Inc. represent a wide array of professional women. Collectively, we work together to award scholarships and work with community partners to implement programs that benefit our community.

We gladly share our time, financial support and passion to serve others.
One of WICA Inc.’s major programs is our prestigious Debutante Ball. Our first Debutante Ball was held on May 4, 1979. Participation as a debutante offers the young ladies in the eleventh and twelfth grade the opportunity to experience a wide array of cultural, educational and social activities. In addition, the young ladies learn the soft skills needed to be successful in the 22nd century. This unique experience culminates with a formal Debutante Ball. Since the first Debutante Ball program, WICA Inc. has presented more than 490 young ladies to society. Funds from the Debutante Ball program has been used to provide scholarships to the debutantes.

WICA Inc. remains passionate about education and offers scholarships to graduating seniors who will matriculate at an institute of higher learning. These scholarships are offered through applications during alternating years with the Debutante Ball.

As we embrace the tasks that are before us, we look forward to years of dedication and continued commitment to the community. As we forge ahead, we will continue to use the beacons of light of our founding members as our north star to even greater service in our community.

Thank you for your visit to our virtual home where you can experience a few highlights about our organization, as well as gain a sense of our long standing commitment to serve the citizens of Prince William County.

Our mission is: Women In Community Action, Inc. is a membership organization dedicated to making a difference and enriching the lives of the citizens of the community through financial assistance, academic scholarships, nutritional support, and strategic partnerships.
